This afternoon, I ripped the old rotting siding and rim joist off and put a pressure treated rim joist in it's place. When the original cabin was built they did not use a sill plate. The addition that was put on in the 1960s did have one though. The way they did it left room for me to add one under the original cabin and not have a step in the foundation. I'm sure that was not done on purpose, but it was awfully nice of them.
